So in actual production, how do we identify whether bile acid products have "good juice"?
First of all, it is necessary to clarify the source of bile acids for feeding !
If we want to know how to detect it, we have to start with the ingredients of Cosmos Origin’s feeding bile acid products!The feed bile acid products currently on the market are basically made of pig gall powder (or cow, sheep, or poultry gall powder). After saponification, decolorization, drying and other processes, they are mainly made of hyodocholic acid, hyododeoxycholic acid, It is made from a mixture of more than 10 ingredients including chenodeoxycholic acid, cholic acid, taurohideoxycholic acid, taurochenodeoxycholic acid, glycinehyodeoxycholic acid and glycinechenodeoxycholic acid.Due to different animal species, different sources, and different physiological conditions, the types and contents of bile acids in product raw materials vary greatly, and the procedures and costs for measuring total bile acid content also vary.
Secondly, the HP LC method of derivatization, which is recognized as the most accurate, is expensive! The method to accurately measure the total bile acid content in a product is to qualitatively and quantitatively measure all types of bile acids in the corresponding product through high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) , which requires testers to purchase standards for each bile acid.
At the same time, the chemical structure of bile acids lacks a conjugated structure, and the fluorescence and ultraviolet absorption are weak. The detection sensitivity of ordinary HPLC is low and susceptible to interference. The sample often needs to be derivatized, which increases the difficulty and cost of detection. In addition, commercial bile acid products on the market generally have bile acid label contents between 10-30% , which means there is great interference from carriers . Therefore, in actual production, the economic cost of this method is not only high, but also requires high laboratory conditions, instrument configuration, and testing personnel. The total cost is basically the same as kneeling down to play paragliding - kneeling (expensive) until flying.
